That you are a cause of joy? Loved?
Loved because you are, and you belong to Him. “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zeph 3:17) Dear Momma, do you realize your Father sings over you? With His love? You are a delight! A cause of joy! The joy of the Father. You are loved. I have been meditating on Psalm 46 these days. The Lord brought me there to remind me of this truth: “Cease striving and know that I am God.” (vs. 10 NASB) All too often I get caught up in getting it right, or figuring it out, or making a way. Instead of going to the One who is right, has it figured out, and is the way. This endless striving is never enough, hyper vigilant, leaving me exhausted and unsatisfied. Yet no babe in arms of love is unsatisfied. The child is content, peaceful, all needs met in love. In John’s gospel he consistently refers to himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” It’s how he identified himself: loved by Jesus. Loved by his Lord. Loved. Do you identify yourself as the woman Jesus loves? What are you striving after? The right meals, exercise, books, healing, or activities? Cease striving and know the Father’s joy in you. You are loved. Like your child in your arms of love, you did nothing to deserve it. If anything, you’ve caused the Father pain and turmoil as a result of the sin that separated you from Him. So He stretched out His arms of love for you, His child, and nailed them to a tree. As a substitute for you, bearing sin’s consequence. He rose to life to conquer that sin, and death itself – to be with you – the object of His love, His cause of joy. You. Cease striving and know… You are loved. © Sanctuary of Home™ All Rights Reserved
