Christ dwells not in a manmade place. He Himself made you and dwells within you through the Holy Spirit.
The sanctuary where he dwells is the true one, heaven itself, which He invites you into. You are loved. The Lord has prepared a place for you. Your Creator longs to dwell with you, to be your God, to be with you. You are loved. You belong. We’ve been painting a vision over this winter season. As John C. Maxwell puts it, you have to identify the target before you can hit it. You’ve seen over these months the value of home and sanctuary. What if your home can be that? A sanctuary where the Lord resides. What if your home can be a place where everyone who lives there is loved and launched? Where everyone who enters is welcomed, loved, confident they belong and are accepted? All this gives those who enter your home a taste of heaven on earth. For as the Lord dwells in the sanctuary of you and your home, so everyone who enters will encounter Him. He is lifted up, worshipped, glorified as King and the Ruler you follow. It won’t be perfect like heaven. Yet the Gospel will be lived out in your home and others will be invited into it. Your home will be a city on a hill. A light in this dark world. A place where you, where others, can dwell with Christ. Your biggest impact in the world will be in your home and all that transpires and is launched from there. Are you ready to do the work? Can you see how it is worth it? Your home. Your sanctuary. “Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.” (Psalm 96:6) We’ve spent a lot of time on vision, and we’ll dive into more practicalities as we look at relationships in the spring. Yet first, what is the vision the Lord is giving you for your Sanctuary of Home? Please share your insights in the comments. © Sanctuary of Home™ All Rights Reserved
