Resurrection Day dawned. The rolls came out of the oven and many of them were a flop!
Flat roll with clear goo spilling out. But there was one – one – success. Domed, appearing to be filled, yet cut into – empty! The tomb is EMPTY! – Jesus is alive!! Excited I took pictures and became aware of the possibilities for future years. The tomb is empty indeed, yet we are FILLED. Full to the brim and spilling over with the Lord Himself if we will have Him. Full of the Holy Spirit. You, yourself, are the sanctuary of the Lord. The place where He now dwells. With you. In you. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” (1 Cor 6:19) “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (John 14:20, Jesus speaking) Where does the Lord long to dwell? He longs to dwell with His people! And His sanctuary, His temple is the place where He made space to dwell! We see this in Ex 40:34-35 after Moses built the tabernacle or tent of meeting: “Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” Again, after Solomon had built the temple in Jerusalem: “When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.” (2 Chron 7:1-2) Also, read what Ezekial saw in a vision: “The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.” (Ez 43:4-5) Can’t these images be a vision for what your home can become? A place the Lord fills with His glory? The marshmallow ‘disappeared’, yet the Spirit is true, real, and lasting. What if you can cultivate an atmosphere in your home that becomes the kind of sanctuary that enables all who enter there to experience the Lord’s presence? This is a high and holy calling. One He has made and equipped you for. Will you answer His call? Please share your thoughts in the comments. © Sanctuary of Home™ All Rights Reserved
